iTEC Level 3 & 4 Sports Massage Course Including Deep Tissue Massage
Next Course Starts September 2023

Sports Massage Mastery is where I go over and above the iTEC teaching criteria and show you how to become not just a good Sports Massage Therapist but an EXCELLENT THERAPIST with all of the tools to CREATE A THRIVING BUSINESS!
With over 11 years experience in industry I show you how I have built my thriving practice in Folkestone which has survived beautifully in spite of the pandemic and teach you all of the tips, tricks, and habits as well as show you my mistakes to give you the foundation to build your own thriving practice.
So what does Sports Massage Mastery include?
-
Technique Tango
-
Level 3 Sports Massage is where you will learn the classical massage techniques. Learning to give a massage is like learning a dance, you will learn up to date techniques to give the best massage tailored to your clients specific wants and needs leaving your clients feeling amazing! Shoulder tension? No problem! Lower back ache? You'll have that covered! I could go on but you get the gist.
-
Level 4 Sports Massage is all about injury prevention and rehabilitation. Not only will you learn the amazing tools and techniques that I have used to treat thousands of clients successfully but you will also learn how to tailor your treatment to their very specific requirements. Remember you may see 5 clients all with knee complaints however the causes for each may vary dramatically so understanding how to assess your client, create bespoke treatment plans and carry out treatments which have amazing outcomes for your clients is the aim of the game. You won't find any one size fits all culture here.
-
Learn how to look after your body after all we only have one. It is so important that as a therapist you learn how to avoid injuring yourself. You will constantly be guided, reminded and shown how to position yourself correctly, and use your body weight to your advantage to avoid injury, but most of all to make the treatment as enjoyable for you as it is for your client.
-
You will learn how to manage clients expectations. Have you ever had a massage and the therapist hasn't done what you have asked, or have you left feeling that your issues haven't been addressed? I certainly have, clients usually know what they want from a treatment but it is not very often that they have an understanding of what they need. Understanding how to manage clients expectations so that you have given the client what they want and helped them by also giving them what they need is the difference between giving what you know is a great massage, and the client feeling like they have had a fantastic massage and experience.
-
-
Contraindication Controversy
-
Be confident in treating complex conditions. There are very few reasons why you would deny a client a treatment and I teach you everything from my experience to give you the confidence to go ahead. When I was training I had a huge list of contraindications which would prevent me from giving a treatment, however it turns out that the list is actually very small. What I lacked was the understanding of these complex conditions and the confidence to treat the client who had one. By learning about these conditions in detail through gaining a thorough understanding of how the body works, and by understanding how to gain proper consent prior to treatment you will gain the confidence to treat almost anyone. As a qualified therapist you will come across conditions that you are unfamiliar with (I do even now and I have been a therapist for over 11 years), and it is important that you learn how to manage this.
-
Learn when you shouldn't treat a client. There are a few cases where you wouldn't treat a client and not only do you learn about these contraindications, you learn how to discuss them with your client without effectively showing them the door.

-
Business Bravery
-
Learning the ins and outs of how to set up and run a business is imperative if you want to succeed as a therapist! There are hundreds of excellent therapists out there who have given up on their dream of helping people and making an impact and that is devastating for me. This is why the business element of this course is so very important to me because without this most qualified therapists will never get their business off the ground.
-
Learn who you are passionate about working with and how to communicate with them (too many therapists market to everyone and this is their downfall as their marketing gets lost in the noise of the online world)
-
Learn how to gain clients with grace and ease without the painful hustle and nasty sales pitch
-
Understand and decide how you would like to run your business, are you thinking mobile? Renting a room? Owning your own clinic? It doesn't matter if you don't know I help you figure it out by guiding you through all of these options and more so that you can decide what lights you up.
-
I take the fear out of self employment, we look at the pro's and con's to help you decide which route is best for you and your business idea.
-
