Sports Massage, Reflexology, Massage, Aromatherapy & CPD Courses
in Folkestone, Kent, England
Reflexology is an age old complementary therapy treatment which can be dated back to the Egyptians.
I pride myself in the hands on concept which I adopt when teaching you Reflexology. I believe that to be an excellent therapist you need as much hands on practice as possible, the more practice you have at anything the better you become.
In small classes of no more than ten in Folkestone Kent, students are taken through the history and philosophy of Reflexology. The course covers the reflexology zones and the related reflex areas as well as common disorders and ways in which to treat them. You will learn how to devise a Reflexology treatment plan and take effective consultation notes to enable you to track your clients progress.
During your training to become a Reflexologist you will discover how each reflexology point on the foot correlates to different parts of the body and how working on these points can benefit the body as a whole.
So what does Reflexology Mastery include?
-
Technique Tango
-
Learning to give Reflexology is like learning a dance, you will learn up to date techniques to give the best Reflexology treatment tailored to your clients specific wants and needs leaving your clients feeling amazing! Your client wants better quality sleep? No problem! Or reduction in stress and tension? You'll have that covered! I could go on but you get the gist,
-
Learn how to look after your body after all we only have one. You might think that to provide Reflexology all you need to do is sit in a chair but there is so much more to it than that. It is so important that as a therapist you learn how to avoid injuring yourself. You will constantly be guided, reminded and shown how to position yourself correctly, and use your body weight to your advantage to avoid injury (that's right even is Reflexology you use your body weight to help you and all will become clear during the training), but most of all to make the treatment as enjoyable for you as it is for your client.
-
You will learn how to manage clients expectations. Have you ever had a Reflexology treatment and the therapist hasn't done what you have asked, or have you left feeling that your issues haven't been addressed? I certainly have, clients usually know what they want from a treatment but it is not very often that they have an understanding of what they need. Understanding how to manage clients expectations so that you have given the client what they want and helped them by also giving them what they need is the difference between giving what you know is a great treatment, and the client feeling like they have had a fantastic treatment and experience.

-
Contraindication Controversy
-
Be confident in treating complex conditions. There are very few reasons why you would deny a client a treatment and I teach you everything from my experience to give you the confidence to go ahead. When I was training I had a huge list of contraindications which would prevent me from giving a treatment, however it turns out that the list is actually very small. What I lacked was the understanding of these complex conditions and the confidence to treat the client who had one. By learning about these conditions in detail through gaining a thorough understanding of how the body works, and by understanding how to gain proper consent prior to treatment you will gain the confidence to treat almost anyone. As a qualified therapist you will come across conditions that you are unfamiliar with (I do even now and I have been a therapist for over 10 years), and it is important that you learn how to manage this.
-
Learn when you shouldn't treat a client. There are a few cases where you wouldn't treat a client and not only do you learn about these contraindications, you learn how to discuss them with your client without effectively showing them the door.

Business Bravery
-
Learning the ins and outs of how to set up and run a business is imperative if you want to succeed as a therapist! There are hundreds of excellent therapists out there who have given up on their dream of helping people and making an impact and that is devastating for me. This is why the business element of this course is so very important to me because without this most qualified therapists will never get their business off the ground.
-
Learn who you are passionate about working with and how to communicate with them (too many therapists market to everyone and this is their downfall as their marketing gets lost in the noise of the online world and beyond)
-
Learn how to gain clients with grace and ease without the painful hustle and nasty sales pitch
-
Understand and decide how you would like to run your business, are you thinking mobile? Renting a room? Owning your own clinic? It doesn't matter if you don't know I help you figure it out by guiding you through all of these options and more so that you can decide what lights you up.
-
I take the fear out of self employment, we look at the pro's and con's to help you decide which route is best for you and your business idea.
