My Name is Rachael Davenport, college Principal and one of the course tutors (that's me front and centre of the above photo surrounded by an awesome group of students who had just qualified). I never expected that I would be a therapist with a thriving multi therapy well being centre and complementary therapy college but here I am with both and my businesses are still growing at a rate of knots.

Being a Physical therapist has given me the power to truly help people and I want to help as many people as I can.

 

What would you do if you had a skill that could help people on a physical and emotional level?

You’d help as many as you can right?

 

Are you the person that wants to train in Massage, Sports Massage, Aromatherapy or Reflexology because you have had such a positive response when having treatments that you want to spread the love? Or do you want to train because you were born with a gift? You can feel that you have IT, you have used IT when friends or family have had a stiff neck and needed some relief from the pain but you only have a vague idea of what you are doing, it just comes naturally and you know that if you get qualified you can help even more people get rid of that ache or pain.

 

I am the second one, when I was younger my Mum suffered terribly with pain in her neck (and no that wasn’t me all the time) and she used to ask me to rub her shoulders. I remember the feeling now as if it was yesterday, I would instinctively find the area where she had a huge knot (I now know that’s called a fibrous adhesion) and I would gently rub and apply pressure until the pain was released. People would say I had magic hands and ask me how I knew where the pain was and what to do and I had no idea I just did it (I was only 10 after all). So when I got the opportunity to learn about why my ‘magic hands’ were so effective I jumped at the chance.
